JACOB BURKS (Hedge Specialist)

Jacob was born and raised in Benton, AR.  He earned his BS degree in Agriculture Business from Arkansas Tech University, and earned his Masters in Business Administration from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.  Jacob joined First Capitol Ag in the Summer of 2005, in the Marketing Department and quickly found that his passion was in price management for agriculture producers.  You may find Jacob speaking to groups about various tools available to hedge producer’s agricultural operations, working one-on-one with his private clients thought the grain marketing process or educating traders on our Managed Futures Program. Jacob has always been very involved in rodeo.  He began steer wrestling along with his dad and two brothers while in high school and continues to rodeo regionally.  In 2007 and 2008, Jacob was the Great Lakes Circuit Champion Steer Wrestler.  He represented the Great Lakes Circuit at the ’08 and ’09 Dodge National Circuit Finals in Pocatello, Idaho.  In 2016, the highlight of Jacob’s career came when he qualified for RFDTV’s The American Rodeo in Cowboy Stadium, Dallas. Since 2013, you could find Jacob on the sidelines for the Varsity Girls Basketball program as well as his daughter’s youth basketball teams.  Jacob serves on the Wisconsin High School Rodeo Board of Directors as well as an Elder at the Lancaster Presbyterian Church. While competing in college rodeo, he was lucky enough to meet his wife, Sara.  They now have two beautiful girls, Bridee and Lainee.

Steve Maulberger

He has expertise not limited to Agriculture but also includes global markets, insurance, lending, capital markets, energy, finance and leadership. With over 37 years of vast experience that includes being the managing director for a multi-billion-dollar, Global Trading Company with operations in 62 countries. Today, he is part of an executive team that manages the crop insurance division of AIG by focusing on helping innovative Ag Producers manage risk and link up with the right partners to maximize profitability. He has lived in South America and EU and today resides in Central IL, with his wife. They have 7 children and 3 grandkids.

Brad Robson (Conservation Agronomist for Monroe County)

Brad was born and raised in Vernon County WI where he still resides today. He grew up on a small dairy farm in rural Viroqua which his family still owns and operates today. Beef cow/calf production and cash grain is the focus of the farm today. Brad has an active role on the farm along with his father. Brad has been involved in the agriculture world for his whole career from the “original” AI industry to machinery sales to livestock production and feeding consultation and sales. Interest in Agronomy and conservation practices led to his role with Monroe County as the newly hired Conservation Agronomist in the summer of 2023. Conserving and protecting the soil, responsibly applying the needed nutrients for profitable crop production and extended rotations for soil health and water quality for our community and beyond.
